On Wednesday 4th April, at 6.30 pm, Imago Mundi will inaugurate the Gallerie delle Prigioni (Prison Galleries), the new home of the contemporary art project promoted by Luciano Benetton. The new space dedicated to Art and Imago Mundi’s collections (over 150 with over 25,000 artists involved) will be hosted in the heart of Treviso, in Piazza Duomo, inside the former Habsburg prisons recently renovated by architect Tobia Scarpa.

The programme of the Galleries includes meetings, screenings, seminars and exhibitions open to the general public, which each time will feature, along with a selection of Imago Mundi collections, new works by its established or young emerging artists.

The theme of the exhibitions is travelling, intended as a means to learn more about the cultures in our world, about dialogue, research and solidarity.

The Gallerie delle Prigioni (Prison Galleries) will be inaugurated by the Sahara exhibition: What is Written Will Remain, dedicated to the Tuaregs and the collections of four countries where these nomads live: Algeria, Libya, Mali and Niger.
