Ermanno Bortolanza Collection

Ermanno Bortolanza was born in 1947 in Treviso, in the district of Sant’Ambrogio di Fiera. His family has got a house and cultivates land next to Limbraga resurgence stream; house and land are sold in 1950 and in this area will be built the GESCAL district. The family goes to live in Lanzago for four years and in the meantime buys and builds a houre, in via dei Zotti, in an area included between the courses Storga and Storghetta.

 

He obtained the diploma of “Accountant and foreign correspondence” and enrolled at the Cà Foscari University of Venice which he left in 1968 with the recruitment to De Longhi where he worked until 2005.

During his life he dedicated himself with passion and active commitment to environmental themes, to the rivers of resurgence (Limbraga, Storga e Storghetta) and to the history of the Fiera district.

He died in Treviso in 2018.

 

Contents of the collection

Documentation relating mainly to the study and research activities conducted by Ermanno Bortolanza during his life, on issues related to the environment and pollution. Numerous materials on the river Storga and the Fiera district. Particularly interesting are those on the project of the ring road east of Treviso not realized thanks to the protests of the Committee formed for the occasion and then converted into a Working Group.

 

Well documented is also the burning of De’ Longhi factory (2007) which will give rise to the Committee 18 April – which also adheres the Section of Treviso of Italia Nostra – and which will allow to carry out a serious investigation on the results of the burning thanks to the money received in compensation

The collection, strictly put in order by Bortolanza, consists correspondence, reports, projects, newspaper articles, photographic and audio-video material, historical panels, posters and topographic maps
