The seminar will be held a few hours before the ceremony at which the Carlo Scarpa Prize will be presented to this year’s designated place. It offers an opportunity for a closer look, through the eyes of a group of experts from different disciplinary fields (landscape, botany, history, literature, agronomy, geology, urban planning, architecture, archaeology, sociology and humanistics…) at the place and its history, its distinctive natural and cultural features, its social context and its future prospects.

The seminar will be introduced and coordinated by Patrizia Boschiero and Luigi Latini

Others taking part will include Maria Elena Volpes (Superintendent for the Cultural and Environmental Heritage of Palermo), other experts and interested parties from Palermo and the Scientific Committee of the Foundation. The discussion will be open to the public.
